A partially completed enquiry is still useful when the missing information is visible. This guide helps sales operations define which fields are required, which may remain unknown and who can resolve them.
This is a proposed intake and review method. Verify any product action and the owner-approved business rule before making a caller promise.
Give every unknown a next step
Name whether the caller can clarify, a reviewer needs to inspect evidence or a business owner must consult an approved source. Do not fill a blank from neighborhood, accent, caller identity or an assumed typical value. The responsible person owns the resolution; the reviewer checks that the state was represented faithfully.
Worked record: service area missing
Illustrative example: a caller asks for a callback but does not provide a district. Mark the area unknown and transfer the supported request with an owner for clarification. The team can count it as an incomplete intake if that is the agreed definition; it is not a confirmed service-area match.
Design a useful review
Sample records with missing, declined, ambiguous and corrected answers. Check that reports keep these categories separate and show the denominator. Revisit a field only when its purpose is clear and the caller’s requested task requires it.
A little more before you begin.
Should an unanswered qualification question count as a negative answer?
No. Preserve it as unknown or declined according to the actual response. Only the agreed business definition determines how it affects a workflow report.
