Service qualification

Order qualification questions for a short service call

Ask only the questions needed to route an enquiry safely, and place clarifications where they prevent avoidable misunderstanding.

A short call needs a question order that helps the caller explain the request before the team asks for administrative details. This guide helps a service owner and reviewer prioritize a brief intake without using a generic lead score.

This is a proposed intake and review method. Verify any product action and the owner-approved business rule before making a caller promise.

01

Design questions around decisions

For each question, write the routing or record decision it supports. If no one will use the answer, remove the question. Mark required and optional fields separately and explain how the workflow handles a refusal or unknown answer.

02

Worked flow: an installation enquiry

Illustrative sequence: identify the requested installation, confirm the service area, ask the preferred time window, and route for availability confirmation. The intake does not promise a slot. If the service area is unclear, clarify it before collecting unrelated details.

03

Test the order under interruptions

Have reviewers examine normal answers, a caller who starts with a question, a correction and a request to stop. Ensure the workflow can resume at the caller’s actual concern rather than forcing every person through the same sequence.

How many questions should a short call ask?

Only the number required for the defined next action. Set the task and required evidence first, then remove questions that do not change the routing or record.
