Define stop conditions for an AI calling pilot

Define observable stop conditions for a BPO calling pilot, with an owner, evidence source and safe recovery step for each.

An operational pilot needs a clear way to pause when the tested task begins to fail. A stop condition should name what the team will observe, who can act, and how unresolved callers or records will be handled. This guide is for the client owner, BPO operations lead and QA reviewer.

This is a proposed intake and review method. Verify any product action and the owner-approved business rule before making a caller promise.

01

Make each rule testable

Use a trigger that can be located in a reviewed call, event or destination record. Avoid vague conditions such as “poor quality.” For each trigger, specify the evidence reference, decision owner, affected scope and first safe action.

Choose thresholds with the business owner before reviewing results. There is no universal error rate that makes every voice workflow safe to expand. A single high-impact boundary error may need a different response from repeated low-severity formatting issues.

02

Worked incident: wrong callback detail

Illustrative case: QA finds that a caller corrected a date, but the receiving record contains the first value. The agreed condition pauses the affected workflow, routes the request for human correction, and assigns an implementer to trace the write. The team preserves the original evidence and retests both a correction and a normal case.

This example is a proposed control, not a report of HeyRik customer performance or a built-in pause feature.

03

Review the resumption decision

Record whether the correction is verified, which contacts or records need recovery, and who accepts the retest. Resume only for the scope that has been checked. A changed language, client rule or integration can make the earlier test insufficient.

FAQ

A little more before you begin.

Who should be allowed to stop a pilot?

Agree the operational authority before testing. The person who notices an issue needs a clear escalation path, even if only designated owners can change the live configuration.
