A budget number without its currency and unit can mislead the sales team. This guide helps property operations teams collect an approximate range and preserve what the caller meant, without assigning a financial eligibility score.
This is a proposed intake and review method. Verify any product action and the owner-approved business rule before making a caller promise.
Use a value with its meaning
A reviewable entry pairs the numeric value with a unit, currency, period and source. If conversion is performed, preserve the caller’s original expression and the conversion rule. Do not turn an approximate ceiling into a fixed offer or purchasing capacity.
Worked correction: monthly versus total
Illustrative case: a caller says “around 80” while discussing rent. The reviewer asks whether that means ₹80,000 per month rather than ₹80 lakh as a total purchase amount. The final record contains the confirmed currency, period and range. Until clarified, the amount is unknown; it is not guessed from property prices.
Check the saved record
Use controlled examples for lakh/crore, decimal amounts, a changed figure and a declined answer. Compare the final caller-confirmed value with the downstream field and report a mismatch as a data issue, not a lead-quality label.
A little more before you begin.
Should a missing currency be inferred from the caller’s location?
No. Confirm the currency and unit or leave the value unverified for a human follow-up.
